Program Notes:
Breakdown is an abstract piece that has two conflicting ideas, one is an eight
bar, slow, somewhat lyrical idea, the other, a very mechanical, angular, and
sporadic idea. The eight-bar lyrical motif is slowly taken over by inchure tense growling and volume, and the mechanical idea simply becomes more sporadic and angular to the point of anxiousness.
