A Child’s Mind

for Solo Clarinet and Celesta

Instrumentation:

  • Solo Bb Clarinet
  • Celesta

Program Notes:

A Child’s Mind is a short piece for Clarinet and Celesta that is meant to
convey the innocence of a child’s thoughts and the things that one may come up with. Set often in a major key, the music bounces from very strict, but jovial melodies, to lullaby-like moments, and even dissonant high-pitched whining almost. At 3 1⁄2 minutes, this is sure to be an interesting, simple and short look into what the ideas in a child’s mind may sound like.
