Sir Charles Spencer Chaplin Jr. was born on the 18th of April 1889 in
London, England. He first hit the silver screen in 1914 in the film Making a Living and finished his career in 1967 with A Countess from Hong Kong. To say that he became an icon of film, and of entertainment would be a gross understatement. This piece, Dance of the Little Tramp pays tribute to Chaplin’s beloved “Tramp” character that he would often play in his films and attempts to act as a soundtrack to that same character stumbling around and making the most of out the odd situations he often finds himself in. From finding a baby in a back alley in The Kid (1920) to being in a cabin rocking over the edge of a cliff in The Gold Rush (1925), Chaplin’s character continues to make millions around the world laugh daily, and his impact will never truly be able to be measured. This piece is dedicated to Chaplin and his work, and that wonderful character he created and lovingly called… The Tramp. The Cover art is by George Hodan.
