Program Notes:
The title of this piece first may seem as though it does not make sense, as
elegies are typically written to be a lament for the dead. However, this piece is meant to act as an elegy for those living in suffering. Whether this be because of physical illness, mental illness, war, famine, or anything that may causes suffering to innocent people, this minor piece legitimizes the struggles they face and does it with seriousness, and care.
