Program Notes:
It is not often I am inspired by the very direct nature around me, more often than not the nature I find myself inspired by is the rather large and more abstract; things like space and the ocean. In this piece, o’ Tree of Bountiful Inspiration, I was inspired by the trees outside my apartment window here in my new long term home of Harrisonburg, Virginia. Anyone who has spent time in this beautiful little town knows of it’s beautiful sunsets, crisp air, and in this case, the bountifully beautiful trees that I was directly inspired by for the piece.
